Frequently Asked Questions

  • Both individual and couples therapy sessions are 50 minutes. This is my standard, however, some clients benefit from longer sessions. If you feel this might be the case for you, we can discuss so when we meet.

  • I am licensed in Pennsylvania and am also PSYPACT-certified. This allows me to meet virtually with clients across state lines. Currently, 43 states participate in PSYPACT. To see the full list of PSYPACT participating states, please see this link: https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap

  • I do not take insurance, although I work with insurance companies out-of-network. Therefore, you (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of my fees. Out-of-network services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. I can provide a superbill for services rendered that you can then submit to your insurance company. To find out exactly what mental health services your health insurance or other insurance policy covers you can call the behavioral health number on the back of your insurance card or read the section in your insurance coverage booklet that describes mental health services. Below are some questions and information to guide you in conversations with your insurance company in order to obtain the appropriate information:

    ·      Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

    ·      What is my deductible and has it been satisfied?

    ·      How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

    ·      How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

    ·      What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

*Note: if they ask for a procedure code to verify what services you are seeking, here are the appropriate codes:

    Individual Therapy: 90837

    Couples Therapy: 90847

  • All payments are made by credit card. You will receive a link to your client portal through Simple Practice where you can upload your credit card information for payments.

  • I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis for both individual and couples therapy. Meeting at least weekly is crucial especially at the beginning of treatment as I need to get to know you in depth before we can create meaningful change. As treatment progresses and you feel more secure and fulfilled, we can discuss decreasing the frequency of sessions to a pace that feels right for you.

  • As of now, I am offering only virtual sessions. All sessions are conducted over a secure version of Google Meet.

  • Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale fee slots based on financial needs. I would be happy to discuss your circumstances more when we meet.
